A&E Gütermann offers a range of sewing threads that can be used to create particularly soft and elastic seams. First and foremost, fine polyester and polyamide threads that are ideal for overlock, coverstitch and double chainstitch seams, even when using the finest needles.
Corsetry
Choosing the right sewing thread is particularly important for corsetry, such as corsets, bustiers or shapewear, as these garments need to provide both support and comfort and must retain their shape over a long period of time.
Polyester and polyamide threads are often used in the manufacture of corsetry. For certain areas of the corsetry that require additional elasticity (e.g. at the sides or back), elastic threads are used. They allow a better fit to the body and ensure that the garment sits comfortably.
