Textured threads, often also referred to as bobbin yarns, are filament yarns that have been thermally/mechanically treated to give them a wrinkled structure (texture) and thus a voluminous character. This makes the thread softer to the touch and its high opacity makes it ideal for overlocking cut edges and for seams in direct skin contact (“next to the skin”).
