Certified quality management according to IATF 16949:2016
The production of our sewing threads and the quality of the materials we use comply with the strict European regulations. Our production is DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 certified.
Our yarn is safe to use both in processing and in the final application. Our suppliers must also comply with the corresponding specifications in order to ensure cooperation in accordance with our standards. In order to meet this requirement, we voluntarily undertake the obligation to be regularly reviewed and assessed by independent, external certification bodies.
Sewing threads for diverse requirements
Various components, textiles and materials are used in the automotive interior. Invisible and visible seam types are used: from holding and closing seams to purely decorative seams. Due to their many positive properties, our polyester and polyamide sewing threads for the automotive sector are optimally designed for various applications:
Seats, headrest & arm rest
Seams for seats, head rests and arm rests are subject to constant use. They must therefore be stable and durable as well as always comfortable and visually attractive.
Different types of seams are created here, from holding and closing seams to decorative seams.
Safety belt
Safety belts must be able to withstand extreme loads of up to 1.5 tonnes of tensile force in an emergency.
In addition to tear resistance and durability, jet dyeing is also important for achieving a high degree of light fastness.
Our product recommendation:
Polyester: Calora 8
Steering wheel & gear knob
The steering wheel and gear knob are among the few parts in the vehicle that are still partly hand-crafted. They are exposed to constant stress in daily use. The sewing threads used must not only remain colourfast over many years but must also be pleasant to the touch.
Our product recommendation:
Polyester: Calora 15 | 20 | 30
Floor mats
Floor mats are exposed to constant stress and dirt. The sewing threads used here must be correspondingly robust.
Control panel and door panels
From leather to fabric elements – different material combinations are used to cover control panels and door panels. Different seam types are also used.
Aesthetics and function – our sewing threads combine both.
Our product recommendation:
Polyester: Calora 15 | 20 | 30 | 40 | 80
Tyre cord
Sewing threads are also used in manufacturing tyres. A special tyre cord fabric is integrated to reinforce rubber tyres. This fabric consists of several layers that are sewn together during the manufacturing process. For best results, a low shrinkage thread should be used as the tyre cord expands during processing.
Our product recommendation:
Polyester: Tera 20 LS (LS = low shrinkage)
Rear luggage cover and convertible top
The boot in convertible cars is covered to protect occupants from flying parts. There is also a coarse-meshed net. Both elements must be resilient and durable.
The sewing threads used for convertible tops must be especially wind- and water-repellent and have maximum light fastness and UV resistance.
Our product recommendation:
Polyester: Calora 20 | 40
Polyester (continuous filament, bonded): Solbond 20 | 30
Insulation
Insulation materials in the engine interior must be able to withstand long-term high stresses. In addition to robustness, durability and good sewability, chemical and heat resistance in particular as well as low flammability are decisive factors.
Our product recommendation:
Aramid: Gütermann L 753 | 1503
Aramid (spun, long fibre): Gütermann K 403 | 753
